Sebastian Heinzel to assume responsibility for strategic planning
Sebastian Heinzel to switch from the Supervisory Board to the operative business area and assume responsibility for strategic planning
Vienna, November 7, 2013. Having served as a member of the Supervisory Board since 2004, Sebastian Heinzel is already familiar with Group developments and with immediate effect is now to switch to the operative business area of the Heinzel Group, where he will assume the position of a Vice-President with responsibility for strategic planning.
Sebastian Heinzel is to begin his new role with a tour of all the Group’s companies, in order to obtain a 360° panoramic overview of every aspect of their business activities. In addition, in November he will also commence an international, extra-occupational Executive MBA course at the INSEAD University in Fontainebleau, which will include time spent in Abu Dhabi and Singapore.
Having studied economics and political science in Vienna and Madrid, Sebastian Heinzel (b. 1977) commenced his career as a journalist and in this function acted as a correspondent worldwide for respected Austrian and German media such as “profil”, “DIE ZEIT” and “Spiegel Online”. From 2006 to 2008, Sebastian lived in New York, where he established himself as a successful Internet entrepreneur with the tripwolf.com travel platform. In the first quarter of 2013, he then sold this platform, which in the meantime had developed into the leading supplier of travel guide apps for Smartphones, to a highly reputable German publisher and investor.
In his private life, Sebastian Heinzel is a passionate globetrotter and has travelled to over 70 countries. His wife, Alessandra, is Italian and works as an economist for the United Nations. They have a young son, Federico.
